Welcome to A & G Music Center. We are a full-service music store with an extensive inventory of new and used instruments for the beginner to the professional in the Philadelphia area. We offer lessons on guitar, bass, piano, drums, vocals, ukulele, and mandolin with only the finest instructors. Our repair services include everything from a simple restring to a full restoration on all stringed instruments. We also purchase, trade and consign all musical instruments, amplifiers and accessories. We are located in Delaware County Pa.

Vaughn Shinkus brings more than 35 years of experience as a drummer and vocalist to his teaching practice at A&G Music Center.

Vaughn Shinkus brings more than 35 years of experience as a drummer and vocalist to his teaching practice at A&G Music Center. He works with drum students of all abilities to develop and enhance their fundamental technique, rhythmic timing, independence, and musicality.

Vaughn studied music at Wilkes University, where he was a member of the university percussion ensemble. In addition to his work as a private music teacher, he has served as a percussion instructor with high school marching bands and adjudicator for regional jazz competitions in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Alongside his career as a higher education consultant, Vaughn has maintained an active musical calendar, performing in Rock, Jazz, Blues, orchestral, musical theater and ethnic groups. His recording with the 1990s alt-rock band Lyndal’s Burning received nationwide radio airplay.

Since 2016, Vaughn can be heard with the Philadelphia-based alt-Country original band The Miners, performing at popular local venues such as World Cafe Live, Milkboy Philly, Ardmore Music Hall, 118 North, and others. In 2021, he backed the band’s critically acclaimed vinyl EP “Meguntacook,” which has been featured on Philadelphia’s nationally recognized alternative public radio station WXPN.

Vaughn resides in Drexel Hill.
